The Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) Minor provides students with a broad and flexible curriculum that examines how gender and sexuality impact society. WGSS classes offer students the opportunity to learn about the history, theory, and politics of gender and sexuality from multiple perspectives.
The WGSS Minor complements any major and prepares students to professionally engage with people from all backgrounds. WGSS students learn how to integrate social justice and advocacy into their studies.

The WGSS Minor provides students with a background in gender and sexuality issues and prepares them for careers working with the public.
WGSS students build marketable skill sets, such as critical thinking, intercultural communication, open-mindedness, and leadership.
The WGSS Program offers options for student engagement, civic learning, and professional development.
Minors can only be declared by current Illinois State students. Current students can use the Apply to Your Program tool on My.IllinoisState.edu.
